The GlobalSat BU-353N is a USB GPS receiver that is designed for high-performance accuracy and reliability in compact form. With a SiRF Star IV chipset, it is a best-in-class receiver for some of the most hostile environments, such as urban canyons or dense foliage, performing very precise positioning where traditional GPS devices fumble.
One of the main features of the BU-353N is that it uses SiRF CGEE  technology, allowing the device to predict the position of satellites for a period of up to 3 days ahead. This hugely improves its Time To First Fix, delivering a quick start time of less than 15 seconds under most conditions, without network assistance. The MicroPower mode allows the receiver to remain in a condition similar to hot start, continuously at very low power levels, while remaining ready for instant use.
